A Tremont man will spend more time in prison and on probation after he admitted Wednesday in Schuylkill County Court that he violated a protection from abuse order twice in December 2015.

Tom A. Starrett, 50, pleaded guilty to two charges of indirect criminal contempt, which is contempt committed outside the courtroom.

Judge James P. Goodman accepted Starrett’s plea and sentenced him to serve two to six months in prison consecutive to his current sentence and an additional six months probation. Starrett also must pay costs and $600 in fines under the terms of Goodman’s sentence.

Pottsville police charge Starrett with violating the order on Dec. 16, 2015, in the city, while state police at Schuylkill Haven alleged he violated the order on Dec. 21, 2015.

In another Wednesday case, John C. Trabosh, 41, of Pottsville, pleaded guilty to indirect criminal contempt for violating a PFA order. Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin accepted Trabosh’s plea and sentenced him to spend 12 to 25 days in prison with immediate parole and pay costs and a $300 fine.

Pottsville police charged Trabosh with violating the order on Dec. 27, 2015, in the city.

“This is an abuse order. You’ve got to obey it,” Dolbin warned Trabosh.

Also on Wednesday, prosecutors withdrew a charge of indirect criminal contempt against Matthew Hedrick, 37, of Pottsville.

Tamaqua police had charged Hedrick with violating a PFA order on Dec. 20, 2015, in the borough.
