n Ashland: Members of the Ashland Area Rotary Club, at a recent meeting, thanked Elaine Stone for agreeing to be club president for the new Rotary year. It will be her third time as club president. She said, according to the Rotary bulletin, that she had attended a president-elect training seminar in State College and outlined programs she will emphasize during the year. Stine thanked Diane Heidlebaugh for agreeing to be the club’s new vice president and Drew Pennoni, who agreed to be secretary. Club officers for the new Rotary year include Debbie Hall, treasurer, and Frank Birster, sergeant-at-arms. During the Feb. 26 club meeting, Rotarian Patrick Reilly presented his Rotary story. In other business, Rotarian Shannon Scheuren said the semi-annual Schuylkill Keep It Pretty cleanup will be on April 23 beginning at 9 a.m. and the Rotary will spruce up Eureka Park in Ashland. The club is looking for Rotarians and volunteers to help with the effort. Garbage bags, gloves and vests will be provided. Afterward, the club will serve hot dogs, chips and beverages to all participants at the Ashland Little League concession stand.

n Pottsville: Kelsi Lynn, whom the Pottsville Lions Club sponsored in the Greater Pottsville Winter Carnival Queen of Snows contest, was a guest at a recent club meeting. She noted her pride in representing the Lions. Lynn is a 2015 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and presently is a freshman at Moravian College, Bethlehem, pursuing a degree in stage management and production.
