n Pottsville: A lecture on the only known occupational Ice Age site in Schuylkill sponsored by the Schuylkill County Historical Society, 305 N. Centre St., is set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the society quarters. James Wosoholo, a member of the Hawk Mountain Chapter of the PA Archaeology Society, will talk about the site, which dates from Crowfield Point with Ice Age tools 14,000 years ago to the late Woodland period 1,500 years ago to the present, according to a society press release. Wosoholo will take participants on a lecture tour through time from the retreat of ice in southern Schuylkill County to the present. He will also explain features found in local geography as well as tools and spear points. People are asked to RSVP for the free lecture by calling 570-622-7540 by Monday.

n Saint Clair: The Quo Student Education Travel group will sponsor a Sophy Jewelers/Thirty One bingo April 3 at the Saint Clair Lions Club hall, 259 McCord Ave. The cost is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Doors will open at 11 a.m. and bingo will start at 1 p.m. There will also be raffles, 50/50s and a mini Chinese auction as well as a special drawing for advance ticket holders. n Schuylkill Haven: The Schuylkill Haven Senior Citizens Association will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the Senior Citizens/Neighborhood Center for a birthday meeting. Following the business session, there will be a program presented by pianist Kim Russell Seibert. Members and guests welcome at all open meetings, according to an association press release. Food pantry items will be collected. Needed items include peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauce, canned soups, canned meats (tuna, spam and corned beef), canned pasta dishes, juices and similar fare.

n Schuylkill Haven: The Gabriel Chamber Ensemble is continuing the celebration of its 26th season with a concert featuring Dana Weiderhold on violin at 3 p.m. Feb. 28 at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 252 Dock St. Weiderhold, a native a Minersville, is a former student of GCE’s Simon Maurer.
