A Luzerne County man will not have to spend more time in Schuylkill County Prison after being sentenced Thursday on a charge of driving under the influence.

Joshua Wasilius, 38, of Wyoming, Pa., was sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin to time served to six months in prison with immediate parole.

Baldwin imposed the sentence after removing Wasilius from the intermediate punishment program. Wasilius admitted violating the terms of the program by committing a new crime and not making payments on his costs and fines.

Wasilius pleaded guilty on March 18, 2015, to DUI, with prosecutors withdrawing charges of driving without a license and careless driving. At that time, Baldwin placed the defendant in the program for six months, and also sentenced him to pay costs, a $1,000 fine and $100 to the Substance Abuse Education Fund.

State police at Schuylkill Haven alleged Wasilius was DUI on Oct. 30, 2013.

Also on Thursday, Judge John E. Domalakes revoked the parole of Eric S. Snyder, 43, of Birdsboro, and recommitted him to prison.

Snyder will have to stay in prison until March 1 before being eligible for reparole and could remain behind bars until June 1, 2017, under the terms of Domalakes’ order. Domalakes also ordered Snyder to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Snyder originally pleaded guilty on Sept. 24, 2014, to retail theft and driving under suspension, with prosecutors withdrawing a charge of receiving stolen property. At that time, Domalakes sentenced him to serve 83 days to 23 months in prison and pay costs, a $200 fine and $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account.

Rush Township police alleged Snyder committed his crimes on Nov. 21, 2013, in the township.
