22 women vie for Queen of Snows title

The 2016 Greater Pottsville Winter Carnival concludes Saturday with the Senior Princess Coronation Pageant and Queen’s Ball.

At the pageant, one of 22 women will be crowned Queen of Snows. The pageant begins at 7 p.m. in the Pottsville Area High School auditorium. The ball will follow at 10 p.m. at St. Nicholas Hall, Primrose.

The following are the 2016 senior princess candidates:

Kendall Boyer, 24, of Schuylkill Haven, is a daughter of Donna Boyer and Dean Boyer. She is a graduate of Schuylkill Haven Area High School, a graduate of Bloomsburg University with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences and is a nursing student at Reading Hospital. She is employed in the safety department at Evans Delivery and is a cashier at Bill’s Produce. She is sponsored by Pottsville Housing Authority.

Robin Lee Bozeman, 24, of Schuylkill Haven, is a daughter of Beth Grace and Keith Bozeman. She is a graduate of Absegami High School, New Jersey, and University of Phoenix. A parts sales manager at AutoZone, she is sponsored by Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Lauren I. Brilla, 22, of Pottsville, is a daughter of Nancy and Steve Brilla. She is a 2012 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and a 2015 graduate of Alfred University. A swim coach at YMCA, she is sponsored by The White Pear.

Tiffany Camodeca, 23, of Tre-mont, is a daughter of Douglas and Patti Camodeca. She is a loan clerk at CACL Federal Credit Union, which is her sponsor.

Sarah Derfler, 21, of New Philadelphia, is a daughter of Patricia and Thomas Derfler. She is a graduate of Nativitiy BVM High School and is attending Millersville University, majoring in early childhood and special eduction. She is sponsored by Pottsville Rotary Club.

Meghan Devlin, 22, of Schuylkill Haven, is a daughter of Judith and Michael Devlin. She is a graduate of Schuylkill Haven Area High School and Kutztown University with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. A sales associate and special projects manager at T-102 Radio Studios, she is sponsored by Hess Catering.

Ashley Farr, 26, of Schuylkill Haven, is a daughter of Mike and Amy Farr. She is a 2008 graduate of Schuylkill Haven Area High School and a 2012 graduate of Lebanon Valley College with a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration. An administrative assistant at Sapa and a self-employed photographer, she is sponsored by The Jungle.

Lindsay Hand, 22, of Saint Clair, is a daughter of Patrick and Deborah Hand. A graduate of Pottsville Area High School, she is attending Kutztown University. She is a sales associate at Boscov’s and a manager at Rita’s Italian Ice, which is her sponsor.

Laykin Hughes, 22, of Pottsville, is a daughter of Todd and Janine Hughes. She is a 2011 graduate of Minersville Area High School and a graduate of Wilkes University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with concentration in neuroscience. A paraprofessional at Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29, she is sponsored by Reliable Home Supply.

Kelly Marie Kalovcak, 25, of Primrose, is a daughter of John and Donna Artz Kalovcak. She is a 2008 graduate of Minersville Area High School, a 2012 graduate of Ursinus College and plans to graduate in May from Penn State Hershey College of Medicine. An officer in Pennsylvania Army National Guard, she is sponsored by Pottsville Internists Associates.

Kayla Kasmari, 20, of Saint Clair, is a daughter of Shannon Darker and William Boyer. A graduate of Pottsville Area High School, she is attending Penn State Schuylkill. Employed by Hidden Stream Cafe, she is sponsored by Pottsville Kiwanis Club.

Emma Kleckner, 19, of Schuylkill Haven, is a daughter of Anna and Roger Kleckner. A graduate of Blue Mountain School, she is attending Empire Beauty School, which is her sponsor.

Alexandra Lecher, 22, of Pottsville, is a daughter of Kelly and Bill Lecher. She is a graduate of Kutztown University and Reading School of Health Sciences. An operating room nurse at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, she is sponsored by Jack Rich Inc.

Kelsie Lynn, 19, of Pottsville, is a daughter of Regina and Robert Lynn. She is a graduate of Pottsville Area High School and is attending Moravian College. She is sponsored by Pottsville Lions Club.

Alyssa Miller, 23, of Schuylkill Haven, is a daughter of Bonnie Miller and Roy Nagle. She is a graduate of Lebanon Valley College with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and is pursuing her master’s degree in education at Kutztown University. A special education teacher in the Hamburg Area School District, she is sponsored by Roma Pizzeria and Restaurant.

Gabrielle Nabholz, 23, of Pottsville, is a daughter of John and Mary Jo Nabholz. She received a bachelor’s degree in health science from Lebanon Valley College and is a physical therapist assistant student at Penn State Hazleton. A server at Friendly’s, she is sponsored by Juliette Bridals by Ivana of Pottsville.

Maria Naradko, 21, of Port Carbon, is a daughter of David and Susan Naradko. She is attending Penn State University, majoring in psychology. A sales associate at Schuylkill Valley Sporting Goods and a swimming instructor at the YMCA, she is sponsored by D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc.

Rebecca Paroby, 23, of New Philadelphia, is a daughter of Sharon and Gerry Paroby. She is a 2015 graduate of Widener University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. A cashier and part-time bookkeeper at Home Depot, she is sponsored by Pottsville Area Development Corp.

Kristyn Scheibelhut, 24, of Schuylkill Haven, is a daughter of Kathleen and James Scheibelhut. She is a graduate of Schuylkill Haven Area High School and Kutztown University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance. A bank teller at Santander Bank, she is sponsored by Barefield Development Corp.

Alexandra Sheidy, 19, of Schuylkill Haven, is a daughter of Michael and Kelli Sheidy. A graduate of Pine Grove Area High School, she is attending Penn State Schuylkill, majoring in biology. Employed by Roman Delight, she is sponsored by Fairlane Village mall.

Victoria Spitler, 21, of Schuylkill Haven, is a daughter of Greg Spitler and Tina Butler. A graduate of Schuylkill Haven Area High School, she is attending Kutztown University, majoring in social work. A waitress at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House and a bartender at Riverboat Saloon, she is sponsored by Palermo’s Restaurant.

Jessica Zurat, 20, of Schuylkill Haven, is a daughter of Craig Zurat and Stephanie and Jack Carr. A 2013 graduate of Blue Mountain High School, she is attending Penn State Berks. A mentor and tutoring learning assistant in the Reading Area School District, she is sponsored by Yuengling’s Ice Cream.
