TREMONT — A Schuylkill Haven area man is headed to Schuylkill County Court after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing Thursday on five charges resulting from what police said was his shooting a gun into a building in May in Washington Township.

Ryan S. Mullen, 31, of 418 Dad Burnhams Road, faces charges of discharge of firearm into occupied structure, criminal mischief, prohibited possession of firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of recklessly endangering another person.

Magisterial District Judge David J. Rossi bound over the five remaining charges for court and ordered Mullen returned to prison, where he is being held in lieu of $50,000 straight cash bail.

State police at Schuylkill Haven allege Mullen shot a gun into a building, and possessed marijuana and paraphernalia, on May 19.

Other defendants whose cases Rossi considered on Thursday, the charges against each one and the judge’s dispositions of the matters included:

Wendy L. Dower, 52, of 14 Woodland Drive, Pottsville; hindering apprehension, obstructing administration of law and four counts of disorderly conduct; right to preliminary hearing waived, charge of hindering apprehension withdrawn, other charges bound over for court.

Jennifer A. Igou, 28, of 234 Hazle St., Nuremberg; theft, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.

Jeremy B. Smeltz, 46, of 944 E. Colliery Ave., Tower City; simple assault and harassment; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.

Shawnetta M. Walker, 37, of 245 Florida Ave., Shenandoah; theft by deception and bad checks; charges withdrawn.

Andrew M. Weaber, 27, of 160 Clear Spring Road, Annville; fleeing or eluding police, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence, driving under suspension, disregarding traffic lanes, failure to drive at a safe speed, speeding, careless driving, operating vehicle without valid inspection and two counts of stop sign violation; right to preliminary hearing waived, two counts of stop sign violation and charges of disregarding traffic lanes, failure to drive at a safe speed and speeding withdrawn, other charges bound over for court.
