n Mahanoy City: Humane Fire Company No. 1, 320 W. Centre St., is sponsoring a homemade Easter egg sale with pickups from noon to 2 p.m. March 19 and 20 at the firehouse. The cost is $9 per dozen and $4.50 a half dozen. The selection includes peanut butter, butter cream and coconut cream. Delivery will be available in the Mahanoy City area. n Mahanoy City: A kids’ paint party sponsored by Humane Fire Company No. 1 is slated for 2 to 5 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Mahanoy City Teen Canteen, 20-22 E. Centre St. Tickets are $25 each. The event, presented by Gigi’s Sip and Paint & Gogh, is to benefit the fire company. The cost includes all supplies plus a hot dog, chip and beverage. n Pine Grove: Zumba sessions are held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays in the clubhouse at Sweet Arrow Lake County Park. The fee is $6 per session and people may start any time throughout the year. n Pottsville: The Pastoral Care Department of Schuylkill Medical Center would welcome Eucharistic ministers wishing to volunteer to ensure that Catholic patients continue to receive Holy Communion on a regular basis, especially on weekends, according to a church bulletin announcement. n Shenandoah: The Father Walter J. Ciszek Prayer Group meets at 6:30 p.m. Mondays in the Father Ciszek Convent of Divine Mercy Roman Catholic Parish, 18 E. Oak St. The Bernardine Franciscan Sisters lead the group. All are welcome to attend. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is held at 3 p.m. every Friday in Divine Mercy Church, Cherry and Chestnut streets. All are welcome to participate.

n Shenandoah: Divine Mercy Roman Catholic Parish is sponsoring three Lenten dinners to be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 10, March 1 and 16 at the parish’s St. Stephen Hall, Main and Oak streets. The Feb. 10 meal will feature devil crab or fish and the other two meals will feature devil crab, fish or chicken fingers. For more information, call the parish office at 570-462-1968.

n Tamaqua: The Tamaqua Area School District is accepting assessed occupation tax exemption applications (blue) for the 2016-17 school year, district officials said in a press release. Retired persons and housewives with no earned income who have previously filed an application and have been approved for exemption need not file again unless their status has changed and they now have earned income. People who are disabled or 75 and older and have been notified by the district that they are exempt do not have to file an application. Anyone 18 as of June 30, 2016, is responsible for the taxes unless exempt by application. Requests for exemption of the assessed occupation tax are due no later than March 1. Application forms are available at the following locations: School district administration building, tax collectors offices, Tamaqua Borough Hall, the Tamaqua Public Library and all local post offices and banks.
